The UVa Scribe Program- Hiring Round for the Spring 2012 Semester

The UVa Scribe Program is now starting its hiring round for the Spring 2012 semester.

The UVa Emergency Department Scribe Program provides a paid employment opportunity for pre-health students to gain significant clinical knowledge and experience while contributing to patient care in the ED.  Through close interaction with the ED physicians, Scribes gain great exposure to patient care and emergency medicine. Hired as hourly employees, Scribes assist the Emergency Department physicians by documenting the entire medical record.  The responsibilities of Scribes include, but are not limited to, documenting the history of present illness, review of systems, physical exam, assessments and procedure notes.  In addition, scribes track laboratory and radiology results.
